Abstract

The current research discussed the relationship between systemic thinking, "as a cognitive skill characterized by the ability to comprehensively analyze the situation in the sports environment", and the skill of doing straight punches, "as an indicator of general skill in the game of boxing".

In order to collect data on the two variables, the Systematic Thinking Scale (16 items) and the Straight Punch Test were used. On a test sample of 100 boxing players, from the youth category (ages 18-22 years).

The results showed the high ability of the sample members to systemic thinking, and the high ability to perform straight punches, although it does not reach the stage of professionalism. The results also showed a statistically significant relationship between systemic thinking and straight punches performance.

This was interpreted according to the concepts of cognitive-behavioral synergy, and a set of research proposals and recommendations were produced.
