The study aimed to identify the effect of the psychological guidance curriculum in reducing cognitive distortions of young basketball players. The research hypotheses included that there are differences in the pre- and post-tests for the control and experimental groups and in favor of the post-tests as well as there are differences in the post-tests for the control and experimental groups and in favor of the experimental group. The researcher used the experimental method to suit the nature of the problem، and the research community included (133) young basketball players. Statistical processes were identified through the use of the statistical package (SPSS). The researchers concluded the following: the preparation of a guidance curriculum based on habits of mind in reducing cognitive distortions of young basketball players and that the guidance curriculum prepared by the researcher as if it has a positive role to reduce the level of cognitive distortions of young basketball players. The researchers recommended the following: Using the guiding approach prepared in this study in the Iraqi Youth Basketball League to help young basketball players reduce cognitive distortions and work to develop their compatibility.
