Psychological differentiation and its relationship to self-efficacy among football players

Abstract

The research problem emerges from the competitive situations in which the player is exposed, while participating in the match, to disturbances and tensions, which have an impact on the player’s actions, which puts him in a state of psychological incompatibility, which negatively affects efficiency and distinction. The goal is to identify the level of psychological differentiation and self-efficacy among the sample and to know the relationship between them. The method used is the descriptive method using the correlation method, and the research sample included (50) football players, as a player, the researcher used the psychological differentiation scale (Al-Dulaimi, 2023) and the self-efficacy scale (Al Murad, 2008). The scale was presented to a group of arbitrators in the field of educational sciences and the field of management. The researcher took the arbitrators' directions and opinions, then applied the exploratory and main experiment, and then applied the necessary statistical methods to achieve the research objectives, through which the researcher concluded that there was a significant correlation between the psychological differentiation scale and the self-efficacy scale among a sample of football players. The study came out with a number of recommendations, including the necessity of conducting physical, skill and psychological tests in order to select players who have the physical and bodily qualifications specific to the game.
